Big Blog News

With the end of summer I can now announce that I am moving my blog HERE. I have only been trying to get this done for maybe...mmm... a year? There just isn't enough time in the day for me so it was very slow getting here.

Please check it out and update your bookmarks. Thank you!

Loose Tooth Photography

There are a lot of loose teeth in Atlanta, Georgia right now. It must be an epidemic. It is so sad to think of all the sweet-faced 5 year olds getting those big grown up teeth. This sweet boy is no exception. We had to get one last picture before the top tooth goes. This is one of the first pictures I took of him today and because I am impatient, I went ahead and posted it. I know there will be some more great ones once they download.

This Brand-New-Kindergartner is now allowed by his Mom (and Photographer) to wiggle away at that top tooth!

Back to School Free Download

You can visit Living Locurto for free printable cards to help with your children's morning routine. There is a version for boys and girls.

So far our routine is going very well. However, it is only the first full day of school and everyone is still a little eager.

Green Ice Cream

I think only a kid would order "Superman" flavored ice cream. I would have been too scared to try it...especially when chocolate brownie ice cream was available to me.

You have to love their since of adventure. You have to also love Spray-n-Wash as it gets green ice cream out of pastel shirts very nicely.

Family Reunion

Grammy got her wish of having a picture with all of her grandchildren. It was quite a challenge when half of them live in Georgia and the other half live in Montana.

I'm thinking Christmas Card. Aren't you?

Summer Time in Atlanta

My kids are still going strong and having fun this summer. We have a few more weeks ahead of us with many fun things planned and some time that I am sure I will hear "I'm bored". Isn't that part of summer when you are a child? Being bored? I only wish I could be bored! There is never enough time to do the things I want to do!

It already feels like summer is flying by so fast. It is hard to believe we are in the middle of July already. I am taking some time to enjoy the kids (and myself). I am also working on some behind-the-scenes-stuff and I am already thinking about Christmas Cards. It definitely feels like Christmas in July as I look at them and start thinking about my busy season that is ahead. I'll be booking appointments again beginning mid-August unless you have a newborn on the way.

Happy Summer!

Happy Birthday, America

I hope everyone had a terrific 4th of July weekend. One of the kids had a stomach-bug so we weren't 100%. A few of us managed to swim and have a hamburger, though!

Beautiful weekend for kite flying.

God Bless America

First Day of July [Smyrna, Georgia Child Photographer]

How can it already be July? Especially when I haven't even uploaded all of my Disney pictures...

Happy Birthday to a little girl that turned 21 months old today. If you can't tell, she loves to hang on her Mommy's leg.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Star Wars Weekends

I am so far behind on posting these photos. Funny how life and kids can keep you so busy. :-) We are enjoying the summer but the schedule plus a house full of kids for most of the day has really thrown me off and I am behind on most everything.

We were in Orlando for a week and spent one of our days at Hollywood Studios with friends. It was a very dreary day with gray skies. The rain never really came too hard and we were able to stay relatively cool considering we were in Florida in June.
I'm not fond of any bug no matter what the form. Here is one for you from the block party parade. The Star Wars parade we saw last time was super. This one was pretty fun for not including Darth Vader.

These are my boys waiting for the Buzz Lightyear ride. It is lots of fun despite the one hour wait time. Luckily there is plenty of entertainment while waiting.

I guess the biggest highlight of the trip was when our youngest son (finally) got picked for Jedi Training. He got to train and then fight Darth Mal. He won a certificate and a Star Wars toothbrush that plays music.

I can't not post my baby girl. She wiggled, walked around, snacked waiting for the show. When Beauty and the Beast started she was very still (thank goodness).

As we do with most theme parks, we closed the place down. Black Star Wars T-shirts for the boys were in order (because after all it is June in Florida!). How our little girl managed to not pass out is beyond me. She was a trooper. I think this was the only night that she slept by herself and not on top of me. Why is being on vacation so exhausting when you have little kids?

Here we are with our good friends. It is the only shot of all of us that we have from the 3 days we were together. Thanks to the random person that did that for us. I think he knew how to work my Powershot well. It can be a tricky little camera.

She's Got The Look [Atlanta Child Photographer]

These are just a few of the sly looks that I get from my little one on a regular basis. I try to capture lots of expressions from children during my sessions because you never know which one is the one that melts Dad's heart or warms up Mom's. These looks are not smiley-smiley but they are the ones that I see so often from my Baby Girl. They are as important as any picture to me especially now that I have had three kids and know how quickly some of this stuff ends. I'm hoping at some point in her life, she won't do what she is doing in the first picture every time she meets a stranger. You never know...

By the way, I love bright colors. I see this little Gap dress everywhere on other kids. I guess we aren't being too original, but I don't care. I still love it!

Oh look! There is a bathing suit on sale now!

Orange Fanta and a Great Aunt

We are home from our vacation (more on that later)!

In the middle of all of my unpacking I thought I would share a picture with you. We were lucky enough to spend a few days with my sweet Aunt in Orlando. She must be a Saint to put up with us with a smile on her face.

I like this picture because of what you probably wouldn't notice (but I know). My Aunt smiled the whole time while my little rascals kicked, moved, frowned and did everything I asked them not to. There is a Fanta Orange drink in my oldest son's lap. She bought him a case when he requested and he took full advantage of it. My Little Guy on the left looks relaxed when I know he has been the one causing the most trouble of anyone. You can't tell at all that he has been hopping up and down and running in the house all day long. Maybe it was all the Orange Fanta? My Baby Girl is pouting from all the hugs he has inflicted on her. She didn't care anything about Fanta but probably just realized she was without her beloved Milk Sippy Cup.

After this picture when all the kids had run away, my Aunt told me how sweet and "loving" they all were (especially my Little Guy). "Wild" might be the word I would have used to describe them. Everyone needs and Aunt like her.

Now, back to unpacking...

Memorial Day Photos - Smyrna, Georgia

Here is my sweet girl waving at you. She was sick so we stayed home while the boys took part in Smyrna's Memorial Day Service downtown on Monday.

He can be so sweet. Don't let this picture fool you, though. He is a wild one! He is only this still in pictures.

Here are my little Monkey Boys climbing in front of the helicopter.

Thank you to all the men and women that serve and have served our great country. I spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about the families that have lost their loved ones because they were serving their Nation. I am so appreciative of their sacrifices.

These pictures are courtesy of my husband. He is a Phillipson too so I guess it is okay to use them here!

From what he told me, there were some very touching stories told Monday morning. I hope I can make it next year.

Furry Friend Friday

She is just too sweet.

This little girly was so cute. She was a great photographer's assistant too. She knew just where the bunny should sit for his picture.

I caught some funny shots with Mommy. She will be glad I withheld the sticky marshmallow kiss from my blog (Yes, I got it!).

You can imagine how adored this little girl is by both her Mom and Dad. I love the shots that show she feels the same way.

This was a fun shoot - lots of laughs. 2 year olds can be so funny. I am lucky I still have one at home for the comic relief! And, you wouldn't believe how well this little one can talk already!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

Spring Baseball

With two boys in baseball, it seems as if we are at the ball park most nights. Every night this week as a matter of fact. They really love it and it is fun to see them play. Here is my oldest hitting the ball:

And they won!

Sometimes I think the snack is the best part about playing the game.

I guess my other two have nothing better to do than hang out right here...nowhere near the game being played.

Playoffs begin next week!
