Last 2008 Blog Post

One more post before the new year! I guess this about sums up our Christmas. It was a great one! We are lucky to have little kids because that means Santa still comes to see us.

I'm sorry I have been so neglectful of my blog. I have taken some time off from photographing children other than my own over the last couple of weeks. I have been working on some things "in-house" and catching up on a lot of stuff (not to mention celebrating Christmas). I will be preparing for a lot of exciting things to come over the next few days. Valentine's Day will be here before we know it!

I still have a 1/24/09 morning appointment open for anyone that needs a Saturday morning session.

Three under Five

Three children age 5 and under (I don't think the oldest is quite 5 yet?). It sounds hard doesn't it? I have moved up in the world to three under the age of 7 and it sounds hard to me! The parents of these little ones make it seem easy. They were not rattled easily and you can just imagine how hard it is to get three little ones to all look at the camera and smile at the same time.

Here are the men of the family. Dad has his hands full (of love, right?):

Big Brother was fun for me. He is the same age as my middle son and reminded me so much of him. I had taken pictures of my little guy the day before and the conversations were very similar. I had to laugh. They are both great negotiators and had better ideas about how my shots should be taken and where.

He was so good. I think he would be a good little helper for me (as he holds the reflector). Is that a smile? I already posted some more pictures of Baby Brother as a newborn here.

and now here he is at 2 months old:I had to include this picture of his big sister. It is too funny. She has a bit of personality to her I think! Don't worry, she isn't going to take a bite of him. We all came prepared with lots of candy for the kids so she couldn't have been hungry. :-)

Look at her beautiful eyes. I bet she gets away with a lot with those eyes - or at least I hope so!

This was at the very end when she got a treat. That is chocolate around her mouth. Mommy came prepared with M&Ms. Sounds like a great Mom to me!

Seven

Seven years ago today I became a Mommy. What a ride! I'm so glad I have been able to experience Trains, Star Wars, Baseball, Video Games, and Camp-Outs (among other things) through another set of eyes.

Happy Birthday, Buddy-Boy!

Wall Gallery

This weekend I took down a big painting to put up a collection of photos. I love it. If you want to do the same and aren't sure what to do or how to do it, I have lots of samples like this one that can help. I can show you something conservative and more symmetrical for your space or help you consider something more daring.

I don't miss the big painting of a flower on my wall at all! It makes me feel happier to look at fun pictures of my family.

Un-sneak peek

This is my sneak peek for my very patient clients. :-) I'm working and hope to have your galleries ready tonight. I call it an un-sneak because these pictures are actually a few that did not make the cut.

A sweet couple - lots of laughter.

It can be work to get little boys to sit still for a picture (or anything for that matter). He is too cute and sweet for it to matter to me how wiggly he is. It doesn't hurt that I have a couple even more wiggly at home!

See what I mean - look at that face!

Covered in Grandchildren

Covered in Grandchildren - it is certainly what I hope for one day.

If you don't have grandparents, these are the ones you want. Young, fun and they give you your very own office in their house. Look at the little guy looking at his grandfather. Doesn't that just say it all?

My out-take of the day. This was the first picture I downloaded off one of my cards yesterday. It made me laugh. It was appropriate as these little ones had to put up with some chilly weather. We were nervous the rain would come and I'm so happy it held out for us.

People often ask me what they should wear for their photography session. I love different coordinating colors and especially love blue jeans. These kids were dressed in clothes from Brinkley's Berries. I bought a few outfits for my own baby girl and can't wait for her to grow into them. You can customize your outfits and they photograph really well.

These kiddos are as cute as their clothes...

This was my little trooper. She was so sweet and cooperative even though she wasn't feeling well and had lost her voice.

I loved her shoes. I asked her if they made them in big girl sizes for me and she nodded her head yes. :-)

You can get a free Target bag if you are willing to work for it a little.

Brotherly Love (I think)

This little guy must love his big brother a lot to let him kiss him so hard.

You might note his hand is in the shape of a gun. I don't think that is a coincidence.

Girlie Soothie

Another Soothie. We pulled it out and she didn't mind a bit.

Doesn't she look like a little doll? So SWEET!

Family Time

Five year old boys love to make funny faces for my camera. They can be real hams. You think it is just a stage they go through, but look! 10 years later and they are still hams.

I guess these boys got it honest...

Senior Portrait? Nope, but she doesn't have too much longer to go.

This is a neat family - they are fun to be around. They make me think of my friend Bonnie and what her family will be like in 10 years from now. She actually has four 5 year-olds and just had a new baby earlier this year. I know she is really enjoying having just a single baby after having Quads. I know her children will grow up to be as sweet as these kids.

The Star of the Show

I am getting spoiled with big kids lately. They stand where they are supposed to and can follow directions. I don't even have to put anything on my head for a smile. Unfortunately, they don't think I am as funny as a three year old might.

With these six children there was only one under the age of five. Guess who the star of the family was (this day).

Atlanta Ribs

It is Thursday. That means free kids meals at Atlanta Ribs in Smyrna. They are next to the Highland Station Publix on the East West Connector. With this many kids, who doesn't need a free meal?

Atlanta Ribs catered our preschool Fall Picnic at Tolleson Park this month. It was great and they were so helpful with everything. They made it extremely easy for us and I would highly recommend them for any catered event you might have.

Halloween Recap

I hope your Halloween was a sweet one. I'm sure it was and if it wasn't...come to my house. There is plenty to go around.

Cool Hand Luke

This little guy reminds me of my boys. He liked to make funny faces for the camera. Luckily I caught him with some real smiling.

What will your costume be?

If you are like us, you have attended more than one Fall Festival this year. My boys are unlike most children because they have always refused to have their faces painted. Never ever has it happened. This year was different when my youngest boy first decided to have his hair painted green at the first festival we went to. Last weekend he had this put on his face courtesy of the King Springs Baptist Church's festival. It is great for him to branch out although a lot more clean up for Mom. Somehow most of this paint ended up on mine and my husband's jeans. And I still have green paint in his comb.

We are not members of King Springs Baptist, but we take part in a lot of their activities. They have a great group of people over there and their AWANA program is wonderful!

Happy Halloween

First Baby

She isn't just the first baby of her family, but the very first baby of all of my college friends. I can't believe how grown up she is! She is as sweet as she is pretty.

I'm feeling very old...

Little Brothers

Everyone should have a little brother to cause some trouble every once in awhile! This is little brother's out-take. I shouldn't post it, but it makes me smile. Every boy this age is entitled to lie down in his photo shoot. He is like my own little boy wanting to lie across his brother. Look at his big brothers looking at him. Don't they seem amused?
This little brother was actually very well behaved and no trouble at all. I could have taken him home with me.

Big Brother was so kind and patient with both of his brothers. I had a little brother 7 years younger than me so I admire him for that! The MIDDLE brother! :-) He was a sweetie. I wonder if he has ever taken a black sharpie to a white bathroom like our Middle brother just did? I doubt it...

Three for the road

I've been updating and backing up my computer and drives. It is taking FOREVER. I haven't been able to edit any pictures for the last two days and it has been frustrating (although I got a few other things done instead). I did manage to get this picture up tonight and will hopefully post a couple more this week.

These boys are so sweet. I can imagine what good friends they will be throughout their lives.

Good night!
